Anyone willing to post a step by step pass side alternator belt replacement for a newbie w an m1009 who just spent $300 last night buying a new battery, and on a $80 cab ride to get home? Or at least point to the correct part source/ pdf manual

Thanks

The -20p is the parts manual. If you look at it, you will see that they are not the same. I'll do a search for you, and find replacement belt numbers. ($300 for a battery?)

Thanks and apologies, been a rough couple of days....truck +family emergency this morning at 6am. $300 was attempt at 70 jump start attempt, battery 100, 80 cab ride, 50 in various tools, battery contact cleaners and flashlights, infrastructure costs as they say. No excuse for lazy searching though....thanks again

If you are doing the Power-steering belt, there are two bolts that are in slotted adjustment holes. One is visible from the top. The other one, you need to lay under the truck to see(it is right at the bottom, under the pump).

The alternator belts just need a 15mm socket (DS needs a 6" extension also) and a long screwdriver(pry-bar).

Do not over tighten any of the bolts or you risk snapping the cast aluminum or stripping it.

Done, all of a 15 minute job. A bit of a squeal on the belt after though, does that usually indicate too tight or too loose?
Weird thing was, charging the front-most battery wasn't helping at all (and it is new), but after charging the back one and she fired right up.

Thanks again!

Squeal, probably a bit loose.
