Stuck transmission drain plugs

I’m getting ready to change over to the transynd fluid and was looking at my drain plugs today. They both appear to be partially stripped. I’ve read someplace that these can be difficult to get out sometimes. Does anyone have a tricks of the trade they can share? Thank you fellas.

Have a replacement one on hand before you mess with it. Hammer in a big torx bit and ease it out slowly.

Thank you. I do have a new drain plug ready to go. Hopefully they come out ok, and I don’t need to get medieval on it

I would just take it slow. Although the transfer case has its own drain plug, fluid is shared with the trans. You just cant get it all out with the trans drain.
