Tach ticking

I can hear my tach ticking regularly in the cab. How could I tell if it's bad or the cable? It is still working--just noisy. Anyone got a good take off tach for sale?

You can hear it in the cab, running? WOW you got a quiet one. Try taking the cable out and lubing it first. Mine was jumping around, I lubed it up and it was better, but the tach end was rounded by the time I got to it.

It's a Timex Tach... It takes a licking and keeps on ticking

Spray some white lithium grease in the cable housing and see if that quietens it up a bit.
