taking apart the steering column

im taking the top of the column apart so i can replace the lock. was told the white part for the turn signals should fall out. well its not. has wires to it. no idea how to get to them.. know how to get to them and take the cover of the back of the column where the turn signal goes in?? thanks any help would be great

i just did one! do you have the special tools to get past the lock ring? if you do take the screws out and just pull on the turn signal mec. the wires will slide up for ya

Take off the nut. Use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel. Push the steering lock plate down really hard and you can pry out the lock ring. The rest is easy.
