Hey guys I got a 1984 M1009. I'm going to replace my thermostat tommorow. I was wondering how much you want to torque the two bolts that hold the housing together. I checked the technical manual, but saw nothing about the torque.
Thanks.

If the torque value isn't listed, you can use the table in Appendix D of TM9-2320-289-34. It lists nut/bolt size and torque values.

Spay the bottom bolt with JB-80 now so it soaks in overnight, also the top one. That bottom bolt can seize up over time from corrosion and break off when trying to remove it.
