Towbar Question

Hi,

when we were in Beltring we aquired a large towbar, see attached picture. Now, the diameter of the bar's pins is slightly smaller than those of the M35 towing-eyes (is that what you call these rings on the front bumper??), so we are not sure, if the bar is actually from or for a M35.

Any opinions?

Cheers,
Mark

Need to measure the pins. There are 2 different sets of ends for that bar. The set that is for the deuce has 1" pins while the other has 3/4" pins. Perhaps your bar has these 3/4" ends which ar used for among other things, the M37. The bar looks correct in the pic.

Those are turn indicators poiting backwards. Some guard trucks and lots of european theatre trucks have em. Supposedly part of a lighting upgrade.

TKS for the input. Seems we have the one with the 3/4 " pins.

As for the light assy, cranetruck named it. It is the european conversion. They will go, beacuse we plan to retrograde the truck to the Vietnam-Era look. The small signal light facing outwards and the ones on the sides of the bed, btw, sit on very crude, handmade base plates made of aluminum (badly electro-corroded in the meanwhile). I always think of the poor fellow who sat there with the metal sheets and his shear cutting and fitting that stuff all day on the zillions of trucks to be converted... Sort of like Sisyphus rolling his block of stone up the hill forever...

;-)

Cheers,
Mark

Hmmm..It was Kenny who brought up the European connection. My pix was taken
in West Virginia and the truck most likely never left the country.
