Toys for Tots in Little Rock, AR

I am along with our new MV club, Arkansas Military Motor Pool, are working with the local Marines with the Toys for Tots campaign this year. I noticed that something like this was done with Steel Soldiers in the past. How did that turn out and is it going to happen again?

I am posting this to see if anyone is interested in participating in this event. What I am planning on doing is having a fill my deuce campaign in my area and I'm hoping to encourage members in Arkansas as well as others in all around to do so. Those interested in doing it in Arkansas, I can provide a contact along with instructions on what to do. I had a meeting last Friday with our Toys for Tots coordinator and he is really excited about the idea. I'm going to try to get donations from local businesses along with the company I work for. I'm going to set a side a Saturday and Sunday before the Toy Hill finale to sit in my local Walmart parking lot one day and the Bryant Walmart the other. I was told I can get Marines in their dress blues to hang out with me on the days I choose along with any others that do such events in Arkansas. My plan is to have a Toy Convoy the Friday or early Saturday of the weekend of the Toy Hill finale. I plan on camping out with the Marines during that time since they will be out there all weekend. I would like to have an official count on who is in by Oct. 31 so i can let the coordinator know so he can let the press know on Nov. 2. I REALLY ENCOURAGE MY FELLOW MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE!!!!! I know its a busy time but I'm making the room and time to do this. It's going to be very beneficial and fun at the same time.

I figured that I'd have some responses by now..........

Ok. I'm still working on the details of the days and locations of where I'm collecting at. I'm still trying to rally more troops.... I even swallowed my pride and sent an email to the Arkansas Traveler's MVPA president to see if any of their members would be interested. That will probably go over the same as anything else I have suggested.... Oh well at least I tried.

I have an Update: I will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots on Nov 29 and Dec 2 at the Bryant Walmart from 7 am until 10 pm. I think that will be the only times I will be collecting. I'm currently trying to get some drop off points established. If anyone would like to join me those days your are welcomed to.

Now if anyone is interested in doing the Toy Convoy. We can meet up at the Bryant Walmart on Dec 5 and we will be departing at noon to head over to Toy Hill. Anyone that wants to participate is more than welcomed to.

I'll be at Bryant Walmart this Sunday for Toys for Tots..... I'll also be back there on the 2nd as well plus I'm going to hook up with the Dixie Car Club for there toy run to Toy Hill since they already have it planned out with a police escort. Anyone interested is more than welcome to come participate. Just let me know.
