will a oshkosh mk 48/17 drop side trailer with the drive shaft bolt up to a m813 rear pinion

I've been thinking the same thing.
Even if the bolt pattern is the same, I'm pretty sure the gear ratio is different - there is a string somewhere here where a guy bolted the front of an M818 tractor to an MK17 trailer. In one of the recent posts he was still wrestling with the ratio difference.
