Transmission Compatibility Question

I picked up a replacement tranny today. It is a Dana 3053A and it will replace my Spicer 3053A with PTO. Will the PTO be compatible with the Dana and is it adjusted the same?

That is a non od trans and the one in your truck is and od.It will bolt in find. but the top speed will be around 40 with that trans in there.i have a 3053 trans for sell in the classifiedif you dont find one closer to you.

I thought all 3053A's were overdrive?

3053 and 3053a are overdrive the 3052 is dirrect drive fifth gear

TM America. Fat fingers at work. It is definitely a 3053A but Dana, not Spicer. So you think the PTO will mount up okay?

I am bumping this back up since I edited my error in the original post stating I had a Dana 3052A when actually I had a 3053A. Typo!!!

Thanks Chris. I read the thread on "transmission swap" but I will have to really study up on installing the replacement. I have never done that before. Maybe there is a Youtube video.

Spicer and Dana 3052, 3053, 3053A, 3053B all take the same PTO, no trouble. JT out

dana is spicer.they are the same company......different yrs they just use a dfferent logo.when you buy new axle parts they say dana spicer on the box in one logo
