1st – 4th not much noise. When I go to 5th and accelerate there is a lot of gear whine noise. When I changed the fluid there was not an odd amount of metal in the oil but have not checked in the last 1,500 miles.
Is this normal or do I have a bearing going out.

When mine was making noise it also started leaking a little worse around all the gaskets.I also found metal in the oil.....not saying this is your problem but the dueces have a little flaw of not having the gears ride on rollerbearings on the shaft....second gear in mine was the culprit....it was trying to weld itself to the shaft.....it could be as easy as a bearing going out...here are some pics of what i found in mine......if you pull the cover off...check second gear and make sure it is not discolered around the shaft..
