Transmission problems

Hi I was on my way to a Veterans Parade. The transmission started getting hot and then lots of noise. So no 2nd, 3rd and 5th. I have 1967 M36A2. I know I lost the counter shaft. I had checked the oil the night before. I'm going to get a manual, but where is a good place to get trans parts or God forbid a replacement trans? Any tricks that I should be aware of (that are not in the manual) when I'm pulling the transmission?

Thanks for the help

Don G.

Remove passenger step
Stick engine hoist through passenger door
Use engine hoist to lower tranny from the top
Can get tranny here cheap...$600 but shipping would be a bear
Military has a special hoist that sits on the deck of the cab to lower tranny
There is one for sale on ebay but its pricey
You might want to look at it to get some ideas
