TRC Regulator Kit

I received my TRC voltage regulator kit to install on my Mep 806A, might be a stupid question but where does the resistor play into this kit, does it attatch to the regulator, am I missing something?

Go to FO-1, Electrical Schematic. Look at A1, (AC volt reg). Right above terminal 5, is part of S12 switch. Between S12 pins 1 & 2, you see R16.
