Tread life

What kind of tread life (mileage) are you guys getting on the M1078? I've searched quite a bit and can't seem to find an answer. I was thinking that with a single rear axle, the tires should wear better than say on a 923a2.

Ask me again this time next year. I just put a set of new Goodyear MV/Ts on my truck. I've gone about 450 miles on them so far and the mold flashing is still showing on the tread. I can say they are much smoother and quieter than the Michelins.

There was a post somewhere one of the regular lmtv posters went on a road trip I think he said 4000 miles and I believe he pretty much went thru a set of tires. That being said, highway miles are
hard on these tires especially on these trucks.

I believe that was tnmogger. I met him this week. What a great SS member! He has a very nice M1078 rig.

I have the goodyear mvt currently with about 5000 miles. They are at about 40% tread. I rotate them as soon as I see signs of cupping wiphich seems to occur around 2000 miles. I have new Michelin xzl that I hope will do better. The Michelin xml look like they would be shorter lived and very noisy.

I'm taking about a 900 mile (highway) with an unknown amount of trail riding trip in Oct. I'll try and take tread depth measurements before and after (if I can remember). That should give a good idea of how they hold up.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to hear a little better tire life. The 6x trucks must be real bad on tires!
