U-joint trunnion wear

Thought I would share this pic of the wear on my forward rear driveshaft u-joint , its only on 3 trunnions. M1009 has a 4" lift. As you know there is quite the angle on a M1009 fwd rear u-joint with a 4" lift.

When I first got it on the road in 2004 the u-joint started squeeling after 28,000 miles. They were still the factory sealed units, replaced both with greaseables. The 2nd set lasted 30,000 miles before I heard squeeling, probably because I only lubed them once or twice. Only the transfer case u-joint was shot, needle rollers were grinding into dust. The rear was fine.

Replaced them both anyways, this time I lubed them heavily every 5000 miles. After 30,000 miles, while doing some transfer case seal replacement I replaced the forward rear for good measure. There was no noise or any usual symptoms. You can see in the pic that the hardened surface is worn on a section of the trunnion, still smooth, feels round, no edges, grease was good, cap turned normally, no discernable play.

Anyone else have similiar wear issues? Obviously I'll be replacing this u-joint at regular intervals.
