Various military historical groups had the honor of displaying vehicles and equipment at the USAF Academy Friday May 18th for their annual “Ring Dance”. This is a very large formal event for the junior class where they, their dates, Academy staff and numerous VIPs sit down for a formal dinner afterwards receiving their senior class rings. They then move to another building for the dance part of the evening. Over 2000 Cadets and guests attended with most visiting the numerous vehicles and displays our groups provided and setup. This year they had a 1940’s theme with the Air Force Band dressed up in WWII military uniforms playing era music. For those familiar with the Academy grounds, the dinner was held at Mitchell Hall which is off the huge courtyard that the chapel is part of. We were allowed to trailer all the vehicles right up to the front door of the dining hall, unload and setup. We later convoyed (drove) all vehicles over to Arnold Hall for the dance. They had us set up on the grass just outside. Great event to attend. The Cadets really enjoyed our displays. Here are the groups that took part: Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado, Colorado Military Historical Group (Jeeps, various equipment displays), 3rd US Infantry Division (halftrack and CCKW), 10th Mountain Division Living History Display Group (chaplain’s display, Jeep, 10th Mountain equipment display) and 6th Infantry Division, WY (Air Force display). Bunch of pictures follow.

Our son graduates from the Academy tomorrow and told us about the display. He said the cadets were very impressed and appreciative of the effort.

Thank you
