I am swaping out my motor in 1009 while doing a compression check, I noticed a drian tube in the valley. The inlet is center rear of motor and runs behide the flywheel and dumps out above oil filter.. Oh the motor is m998 take out that was rebuilt in 2006 ect.. just first time I noticed it on one of these motors.I am just curious about it.

thats all it is. a drain line for the valley. only the newer motors have it. you can install it in the older ones though.

I heard on that the tube came equipped in all manual 6.2's. That way when the ip leaks, it doesnt drain all over the flywheel.

Odd that it is in your truck for sure
