Almost all folks here are notorious for checking their MV's before hitting the streets. But then again -

This is for those that wish to elimimate some steps - or do not do a full pre and post trip and a regimented inspection on your vehicles.

There is more to the story with video's if you look - but the overall story here is this unit losts its transmission output Yoke on I20 here in Atlanta - this unit was a garbage truck. The mothers hand had to be amputed as well and the daughter in the vehicle was also hit with schrapnel - call it a fluke if you wish. Also the 8yr old boy was killed.

But non the less - this could have been anything to cause an accident if you think about it. Lawyers are standing in line on this one and circling like crows off the feeding grounds of this trucking company.

If you read the story as well in previous web site locations - you will see this Trucking Company had almost the highest rating of negligence in their fleet size nation wide.

Here is the story - let you mind figure out how this might happen in another shape manner or form if you forget to check your MV before heading on the Blvd.

It's sad to hear about things like this.

I've had parts fail for no apparent reason but usually it can be traced back to sloppy maintenence and plain failure to check.

There are 'NO' good reasons for not doing a through Pre-Trip. Even if you don't care about your azz...as was shown in the OP, others lives & well being are placed at an even greater risk when bad judgement is practiced.

If you want to play Russian Roulet with your life, fine, have at it....but don't be that fool who distroys the lives of others.
