WARN Premium hub kit 38826 Wont fit M1028. Anybody?

Bought Warns premium Lockouts PN 38826 as replacements for my M1028.
Last thing to do before installing cap is to install the large C ring, however, there is not enough clearance between the ID of the rotor hub and the OD of the new aluminum splined hub.
After micing both old and new parts I find the OD of the original hub to be smaller allowing the necessary clearance.
Well, there goes Labor day weekend Plans.
Anybody been up against this??

You can get that spiral spring retainer in place. You just need to clean the groove in the hub really good. You just thread it into place a little at a time. I have seen guys go all out temper tantrum with the spiral snap retainers and the M1009 wire hub retainer. They cursed the things till I could not stand it anymore and took them out or put them on just to silence the anger. They said it was the stupidest thing they ever saw. It is a simple design and it works. I couldn't make anything better.
