Good morning troops! I have an M1009 converted to a "pure" 12v system. Anyone have any experience with the Wellman 050 glow plugs? They came highly recommended as an improvement over the AGC 60s, given that my rig is converted.

Take care and thanks.

Bought my 1009 last Oct. from GL and it came with bad GP's. My GP solenoid was bad too, so I replaced it, swapped some wiring, and did away with the big resistor on the firewall. In doing so, I converted my GP's to 12V. My local diesel shop recommended the Wellman 050 as a replacement as they are self regulating. They've been in the truck for almost a year and so far, I'm pleased. No problems at all. However, the connector tab on the Wellman 050 is to big for the wiring/socket on the truck-- just file or grind down to fit.

I have been always told CUCV glow plugs are 12v, that why when one or two go bad the others will soon follow if the bad ones are not replaced. Wayne
