My M1028 is dual rear wheel and has an NP208 transfer case. Is it an A1,A3? I read that the A2 has an NP205. What else can you tell me about it besides what's on the Resources page? Thanks ahead.

If you have a NP208 it will be a 208C and it is chain drive.
If you have a NP205 it is gear drive.
Chain drives are fine if you take care of them.
I have 178,000 miles on my M1009 with it's orginial 208 case still installed
but many prefer the 205 with it's gearing.

M1028A3 would be the dual rear wheels and 208 case. All else pretty much CUCV. These were conversions from the M1028.

It's a M1028A3, the A1 and A2 both have the 205 transfer case.

It is the same as any other CUCV pickup with 4.56 gears and a Dana 60 front. The conversion kit to turn it into a dually included a rear sway bar, Dana 70 rear axle (I believe with a Detroit Locker) and the necessary front hub components to make the front a dually along with the body modifications for the fenders.

Nice find... now for the important part of this message:
