What is the proper tool to remove this?

Clearly, I am a novice. There are two of these stuck in a door blank on my HMMWV, I was just going to take a pair of pliers and unscrew but figured I'd ask here first if there was something more to it.

looks like a 12point head bolt. I'd try a box end wrench or 12pt socket.

I don't know hmmvws so I don't know if its that simple, but thats where I'd start.

I am an idiot lol. Once again proving there are no stupid questions only stupid people!

1/4" socket took it off, Everything was 7/16" bolts so far and clearly I am not that smart.

The head was so small I thought it was a different threaded hole or some sort of push pin, it's the same thread as the 7/16" hex headed bolts that is on all the other doors.

bet you can fit a triple square over that bolt.

They are called Darling bolts and the threads are 1/4-20
