What is this thingie??

I got the chance to go inspect my Deuce today and I have a few questions, first: What is this thing on the cab, behind the pass side mirror mounts and next to the stack? It looks like it would hold a pole about 2" in diameter. I am guessing it is for the MG ring mount but there are no other pieces, no reinforcing plate on the back of the cab.

You are right, supports the leg for the MG ring mount.

That thing is part of the mount for the 50 cal machine gun.

All trucks have the side mounted mount, not all have the cab brace.

Great, that's what I thought, I will not be completing the M2 ring mount but that DOES give me a handy place for a parade flag!
