What size for flywheel and tranny bolts?

I have to put a rear main seal in one of the deuces. What size and lengths are the flywheel and tranny to engine bolts?

It started barfing at D8Dave's and I'll be doing the dirty deed there. I don't want to have to stop to find a supplier of grade 8 bolts.

I searched and came up dry. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Lance

Grade 8 bolts at Tractor Supply are sold by the pound. I used grade 5's when I replaced the ones on my deuce engine cans (on that size the tensile strength is a tad over 3000 pounds per bolt, and there are 38 of them on the can - so I should be good).

I sort of helped Stretch pull and replace his transmission at Haspin. Maybe he will chime in but I remember them to be 5/16 and 1.5 inches long.

As Mike suggested, go to Tractor Supply and get a couple of pounds of quarter, 5/16 and 3/8 inch in various lengths and you will be fine. Grade 5 or 8 will be more than enough since the ring on the engine is aluminum. That surprised me so you won't be applying a lot of torque unless you want to strip out the holes.
