Just curious whats the most you guys would pay for a 1970 Jeep Deuce with winch and standard cargo bed. Lets say the DRMO description said "driven in" but you were unable to verify actual running condition. Looks good in the pictures of course.

A lot of that depends on where you are - and where the truck is. If you live in Elizabethtown and the truck is at Knox you can spend more than if you live in Paducah and the truck is in Lexington.

There are a tremendous number of variables to consider for every individual. I look at my bank account, family needs, personal needs, time, space, patience, etc., before a big purchase.

As for the truck? I look at miles, hours, hard-top or soft, heater or no heater, w/w or wo/w, turbo or non-turbo. The truck I ended up purchasing had what I wanted and I set my bid at my max for any purchase at the time. I got the truck for a little less than my max, but then came all the other factors of deuce ownership. Transport, insurance, title, fuel, etc.

I'd say if you wanted to buy a good running truck and have some money left over for filter change, fluids, a full tank of fuel, and a few other things you don't expect, like maybe an in-tank pump and a locking hub... set aside no less than $5000. If there's money left over, you can either dress the truck up a little more, or put the $$ back in your bank account.
