Everything appears that it would still be a gasser, it was originally a gasser. Yeah, if it's solid it would be worth $1500. Looks pretty nice and judging by where its sitting, I'd say it was driven there. Now, don't be surprised if it has a 350 under the hood, you never know.

Note on the instrument panel is says 4/22/08 (or 03, cant read it). Possibly acquired and/or rebuilt as a firefighting unit. Who knows. :driver:

I think Boss Doug secretly wants the truck for himself! The truck looks like it might have been ex-fire department judging by the red paint. There are a lot of extra toggle switches on the dash. Is the electrical system still 24 volts or has it been converted to 12 volts?

Gassers are cool and the truck was literally designed with the OA331 engine in mind. A deuce bed - not hard to find, maybe a wiring harness, and taking off that God-awful brush bar on the front and replacing it with the correct bumper, would be about all required to bring this truck back to its original form - that and 24087 paint.

Let us know if you decide to take the plunge :-D.

...or you could use your $1,500 to buy a complete truck that is stock from GL. I love the idea of saving trucks, but it would probably be cheaper in the end to buy a truck that is the way you want it, rather than trying to put this one back together (assuming that is what you had planned).

I agree with BKubu, you could buy a complete truck M35A2 from GL.

Things i did not like
Gas Engine
Sprag
No bed probally was a tanker they took off

Now if you like the older trucks I would go for it.

Whats on the data plate? Should be either the gasser or possibly a LDS-427-2. If you get it and part it, I need some gasser sheetmetal.

It is a multifuel. It does have a PTO. Its a non turbo with sprag and no tach. If they accept my offer for 1,500 it will be mine. I will know monday. It also runs good, solid brakes and has documentation of its services, the tires are almost new and the batteries are less then a year old. I can drive it home.

Since it has no bed it would be the perfect candidate for bobbing.

Aaargh! If you buy it, please let me know what you have there. If it's an original gasser with a gasser data plate that matches, I may be inclined to offer my cargo truck, sans bed, as a trade for it. I could even come up with trailer suspension and a trailer bed for ya.
