Wheel Bearing?

Ok well while I had the front end up to slime a tire I noticed there is a small amount of play in the side to side motion of the tire. I have had no other symptoms of a bad wheel bearing and the lug nuts were not loose. Does this sound like the early signs of a wheel bearing on it's way out? What do I need to buy and what do I tell the parts store it's for, an '84 blazer or a k30 or what? Also how difficult is this to do and how long will it take.

Thanks,
Miles

ok first of all you have 1/2 ton axles in the blazer so you want to stick with Blazer/ 1/2 ton PU parts so the 1 ton is out. Second make sure you have no front end parts that are worn. A loose tie rod and a ball joint will do the same. If there all tight just take the hub apart and see what you have. 99% of the time all you need to do is clean and repack the bearings and reset them and your good to roll. I only have seen a hand full of burned up bearings in the 10 bolts.. but it has happened. First step.. take it apart and see what you have to deal with.
