Wheels studs

Whats the consensus on replacing the LH studs with RH studs so they are all the same? I may very well be flipping the hubs on my truck in the coming weeks and thought it'd be a good time to replace the LH studs with new RH studs and have standardized wheel stud tightening direction.

Would ya recommend replacing the nuts as well if going to new studs?

In my humble opinion, the stock way is rather easy to remember. No matter what side of the truck your on, you turn them to the Back, to Back them off. I never forget this way. Also, if you do ever sell the truck, the next owner might get upset when he can't get any lugnuts off one side when he *knows* he's turning them the *right* way.

But it's your baby, so you do what you would like on it. If it is easier for you to work on with all RH threaded studs, than go for it. That's the best part about this hobby.

I wonder if changing the studs from "as manufactured" would cause you grief from a sharp eyed inspector or roadside vehicle enforcement inspection. I'm pretty sure it would be valid cause for an "out of service" declaration.

The left hand ones are stamped on the end so changing them seems a little like pole vaulting over a mouse turd.

I'd leave it stock.

Just to answer your last ? If you change the studs from LH to RH you have to change the nuts too.
Yeah, that would make sense wouldn't it  Brain fart on my part.

It seems like the consensus is to just leave stock - I asked for advice and I'll take it and leave them be. Thanks guys.

I flipped my hubs then super singled it. I tossed the bud caps out and used lug nuts from the M105 trailer axle for my rear lug nuts. Worked perfect. I left mine LH and RH threads respectivly. I've had too many old Dodges it just seams natural to me.

I think U should change every other one................ :D.................But really it is just asking for trouble for another owner , and or someone helps u some day and breaks off a few. that is just not worth it in my opinion at all.....2cents

If you really feel like that money you'd spend on new studs and nuts is burning a hole in your pocket, you can always send it to me.

Leave it stock.

The way I remember is -

Left side = Left hand
Right side = Right hand
