Where to buy winch components?

Hey Guys,

This is my first post, but I've benefited from a ton of useful info. on this site the past couple years while wrenching on my '84 M1028 and '71 M35A2. My uncle recently bought a winch-equipped Deuce from GL, and since he didn't need the winch, he sold it to me with everything minus the PTO, PTO lever and related brackets (he's using the PTO to run some sort of hydraulic pump.) My question is—am I going to have a hard time sourcing these parts, or are there outfits willing to sell just the PTO and the lever and brackets (pretty much everything behind the PTO driveshaft)?

What he said.

If you want the parts this week then you should buy from a supplier like White Owl or Saturn Surplus.

If you are in no hurry, those parts occasionally are advertised by fellow SS members right here on this forum in the classifieds section. Look for the classified page tab at the top of every page.

Eastern Surplus and equipment (banner advertiser on here) looks like they have everything you're after. BUT they are expensive. If you want the parts for less you're gonna have to keep checking back on the classifieds here. There has been a good rotation on whats listed in the classifieds lately...

M35 For Sale. Deuces for Sale Turbo Diesel, Army Trucks, Logging, Heavy Trucks, Off-Road Big Trucks, Four Wheel Drive, Parts, Truck Parts, M35 parts, M35A2 parts, Deuce and a half parts, Reo parts, 5 ton parts, M900 parts, military vehicles for sale,
Great, thanks for the tip. I just checked Eastern Surplus and man, you weren't kidding . . . I'd have more invested in the PTO and parts than I would with the winch, brackets and driveshaft. Guess I'll keep an eye on the classifieds.

Saturn has the PTO listed on their site for $250. Not bad IMO.

You can fab up all the linkage to shift it fairly easy if you don't care about it being stock. I put a PTO on my uncle's deuce for him. He didn't have the linkage so I fabed up a lever and the rod that goes from the lever to the PTO.
