Which year to buy: A1 vs A1R? 3126 vs C7?

Shopping for a FMTV, preferably a M1083. Newer seems better but I want to avoid ULSD. A1 with ABS would work but A1R with air conditioner sounds better yet. Of course, newer means more expensive but any thoughts on an “optimum” year?

Welcome XCRV! My truck is the 1996 M-1078 A0 version. Still a very nice unit. A/C can easily be added as many have done here. Let me know if you'd like to get together sometime as I am nearby in west Nashville.

Thanks for the invitation TNriverjet. Would be nice if we could get together after we (husband & wife) buy a truck. We will have some questions, for sure. I envy the agility of your M1078 but we plan to build a full-time RV/overlanding/expedition vehicle so I think the M1083 will be easier.
