Who needs paint?

Scotchbrite takes the oxide off for a good finish.

Is there a chemical that will do the same, for the little details and crevices?

Bjorn, you might consider finding a wire wheel for your 3/8 inch drill, with nylon bristles as the "wires" rather than metal. Rotating plastic hairs can remove that stuff pretty quick too for all the crevises...

Pressure washer with a good strong degreaser will take the oxidation/chalky finish off also. I did most of my deuce that way and then hit the cab with a DA to smooth down the previous 4 color camo brush marks, 5 years later paint has faded but no peeling. http://news.webshots.com/album/29515200JTmindbZmO
