Hello guys,

Are there any difference if the brake housing cover is mounted horizontal or vertical ?Are any other difference(s) between early and late units ?

It is the same winch and it really doesn't make a difference... See this post here.

Are any other difference(s) between early and late units ?

I have found early ones with a round knob on the drum lock, angular ball bearings (#7309) for the wormshaft, and/or a drum that is open to-wards the clutch housing.
Also some of the drums are drilled through, others not, where the lock bolt inserts. Not clear though, if that is for the early units or mainly manufacturer dependent.
