winch shift lever

my engagement lever on my winch is not stopping where it is suppose to. the ball goes way past one way and then stops in between the holes the other way? any ideas just rebuilt my winch with all new seals and didn't notice anything is there something i should look for?

The shaft is already twistet and prob. won't last to long....

Sounds like the problem to me... Anybody know where to get a new one or a i gong to be stuck with a used one
