Yet another Charging question

I know there has bee a rash of alternator posts lately, but none of them or the ones that I got on the search have been able to answer my question so here goes.

My voltmeter is reading right on the line between green and red, showing near an over charge condition. I pulled the battery cables and get 13.7 on the front battery and 13.9 on the rear. My charger will not charge them any more, the computer in it kicks off immediately and says they are fully charged. The alternators are charging at 14.7v and 14.9v respectively, measured at the battery with the engine running. I know I need to measure at the alternators to get a better idea but it is dark and I don't want to be messing around in the engine compartment with the motor running in the dark. I will check at the alternators in the morning when I have day light.

The -20 troubleshooting tells me to replace the alternators if they show over 16v charging voltage. I seem to be in the limbo area. The batteries are not getting hot at all, is it safe to continue to drive it till the regulators in the alternators fail to the 16v level while I wait for a rebuild kit, or shall I park it till I can get the alternators rebuilt?

Most of the new voltage regulators are set for 14.8v. I would keep an eye on the 14.9v alternator. Remember that the voltage gauge is just a guide. It is not totally accurate.

I would run it as is.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the input. It is always good to get a second opinion.
