That was made for both the Stirling 9 mm SMG and also the FN C1 (7.62).
Yes, it is Canadian. I have used them more than a few times!
I was gonna guess M-3 SMG and M14 but that didn't exactly match a deuce...and the 9MM was off as well!:)

My next guess would have been some kinda NATO mount.

Glad you ID'd it Stan!!

The mounting point on the MLVW (CDN M35) and M135 / M211 was in the corner of the back wall of the cab.
On M38 and Ilitis jeep wannabe's it was on the floor pan, on the outer side of the seat, without the butt pad. (SMG only)

The mount was designed so that it could hold the Fabrique Nationale Assualt rifle (Great Piece of Kit) or the 9mm Stirling (Sten) Sub Machine Gun.

The double clips were for the SMG and the butt pad would enable it to hold the FN.

I don't have pic of it, but you can ask on MLU FORUM - Powered by vBulletin

Some of our crew should still have some photos and maybe a TM or 2.

I was too busy actually working to snap photos.

WSUCOUGARX had it half right.

Every now and then we get some good gear up here.
When I first saw that mount, all that I could think, was ...

Crap, That makes sense.
That didn't come out ot OUR supply chain!

It did, and it just worked!

If you tried to mount the FN C1 A2 (full auto... the new Bren Gun) in it,
the bipod and the extended magazine,
were a very effective skin exfolliant.

It took your elbows and any other exposed skin right off!

The other thing that we got right was the cargo roof rack for the M35.
