GM 14 Bolt Axle Housing Leak

Today while I was under the truck I noticed a small oil seep from what looks to be holes drilled in the axle housing. It seems like these are from the factory as other axles have the same thing as well, and it feels like they’re plugged with some sort of sealant.

Does anyone know what these are for? And is there a way that they can be resealed?

Those are welds. The axle tubes are pressed into the center section then welded to center section through those holes so tubes can not rotate.
