Im looking for someone close to new york/new jersey that rebuilds military mules. I had my A5 working great then I believe the ethanol free gas i used was not ethanol free, fuel pump crapped out. I used to be in better shape and would have done the rebuild myself. After having a PE and 2 heart procedures I just don't have the strength or focus.
I was told that Lance Miller in Ohio is the man to call but wanted to see if anyone knows someone closer to me. Does anyone know how to reach Lance Miller? or anyone closer to me?
thanks a lot and Its good to be back on steel soldiers!!

Don,
How do you know it’s the fuel pump? Is there fuel mixed with the oil? Is your fuel pump flat on the top? pull start or electric starter? What happens when you try to start it?

Hey NickD
As I remember before the mule sat after my illness. The engines power was erratic and it started losing power then would not run.
After further inspection, charging the battery, finding corrosion on the cables and cut/replaces the terminal connectors with no power to the engine. I then went on to the off/on switch which is being replaced, push button start being replaced and most importantly the wire running back to the magneto is all crusty and cracked. All these sat out in the rain and elements so once replaced the M274A5 will be stored in my shed or garage.
I believe once I replace the parts listed it should turn over. I’ll take it from there.
The trans is very crusty and in need of good cleaning then leakingseals must be replaced from what I remember. New trans lubricant.
I think I’m just going to bring it out to Ohio and have lance miller restore it for my son to enjoy and I’ll use it for hunting.
It is electric start, which is like to change to pull start.
There was a slight fuel smell in the oil when I purchased it but when I changed the fluid and the fuel pump it went away. The previous owner ran an electric fuel pump.

lance miller does excellent work. You will be pleased. I would think twice about removing the electric starter.
