Mechanical to electronic IP?

So looking for a new engine for my 998. It’s a 92 and has a 6,2 (toast) mechanical IP. My question is what has to be added to run an electronic IP 6.5? I’m staying with the 400 trans as it’ll never see the highway. Is it easier/cheaper to switch the IP to mechanical, or add the parts to run the electronic IP. And what are the parts needed? Any info would be much appreciated.
