Bought my 1st mv today after dreaming of owning a deuce since i was a kid. Im 27 now and found a very clean m818 at hundys compound. Ill post pics tomoro, im so excited and wont be able to sleep tonight! The most intimidating drive of my life, 100 miles driving a truck i didnt even know how to start or even turn on the headlights when i got to hundys.. Took it slow driving it home with my dad following close in his pickup. Ive been on ss since 09 and now i finally feel like i can fully be a part of this site. Sorry for the rant, im just so excited!
Being a fellow younger member 26 and a father of two little girls, the best advise I can say to you or give you is, read the tech manual ( http://test.steelsoldiers.com/upload/809/TM9-2320-260-10.pdf ). I have read it twice a month for the last six months and each time I read it I find something new that I missed the past times I have read it. Go to the rallies talk to the older members about there five tons. There are many things I have learned from many of the members on here that the TM's didn't cover (thanks to augeydoggie, 73m819, djones, 91w350, and most of all docfarmall). The trucks are the fun part of having them but the best part is having the know how to make the trucks do what they where desinged to do, take 20,000lb off roading, and make all the other jeepers' jaws drop when you say, "That's my Jeep" (I have a 1970 kiaser jeep m818).

Enjoy the new truck and always have respect for it when your driving it, cause if you don't it will make a huge fool of you, and posible wurse.

Merry Christmas from the Indy platoon.
