I scored an oil pump rebuild kit a while back for next to nothing and i was curious if anyone had used one? Ive rebuilt pumps before for John Deere stuff. The old pump made plenty of pressure and is in good shape but is a civilian pump so the key way is not offset. Any experience with these kits, the parts are in perfect shape and the TM has specs for rebuilding them.

I have done a couple. Get out the TM on engine and clutch over haul and read it before starting other than that, pretty straight forward. You will need a press to get the gear pressed on to the shaft. Becareful here since you only get one shot at getting it in the right spot. Also pay attention when doing the last of the pressing process because you need to hold about .002 for end play. The best way to remove the old shaft and gear is careful use of a chop saw of cut off grinder.
