Can someone tell me what the standard cable lenghts are for the 18 pin interconnecting cables used in the VIC-1 system?
A part # for the different lenghts would also be helpfull.
Thanks
George

The standard length was based on the vehicle. I've seen CX4723 cables as short as 1 foot and as long as 23 feet.

There was a thread giving the different part numbers awhile back. I think it was back around 2007 or 2008 it was posted.

Thanks Carnac.
I tried a search but I didn't go back that far.
I'm trying to figure out if and were I want to install the 2298 box's in my HMMWV.
From what I have seen they normally were installed to the left and right of the rear seats on the bed or floor but I want them up high so they wont get beat up and the cables aren't in the way for my applications with the truck. Knowing the lengths of the cables might help me decide.
Thanks again

George

George,

When you figure out where you want to mount the control boxes get a good flexible tape measure and run it along the route you want to take your cables. Guestimating doesn't work well here, you want actual meaurements. As an example, in the M151 to go from the right rear sponson to the dash takes a 9 foot 4723.

Another suggestion is to just get a couple of the 23' cables (normal in the HMMWV kits) and coil any excess under the rear passenger seats.
