When I read the "250" part in your thread the first thing I thought of is it's a 5-ton truck.

Being that it's a 1968 and that it's not all pimped up like one would probably be with an

engine change I'd say it's just a regular multi fuel truck.

Well I had a look at it yesterday. The data plate was pretty much missing everything except 196(8?) scribbled into the "MFG. Serial No." spot. It had some numbers printed on the plate, not in the bare metal writing areas though. As well, the plate said Reo on it instead of Kaiser, so I'm a little confused there. Anyhow, it would crank, but the fella couldn't get it to start, so I might head back down with some filters to be sure that's the only issue. The tank looked kinda nasty. Surface rust, straight body, just eaten through on the passenger 'rocker panel' from what I could tell and maybe cut a bit on the inner fender for the exhaust. Cracked glass. If it runs, I'll seriously consider bringing it home, working out a route to avoid the interstate.

Anyhow, I haphazardly snagged some pics of the engine, and it looks like a turbo multifuel from what I can tell, but diesel is not my area. I don't really have an area, come to think of it. Photos inbound. Just give me your thoughts and advise on if you'd purchase it. It'll either be this or a motorcycle. Pros and cons all around.

I did not. If it's a worry of being road-ready, I'll go through all that before it possibly hits the road. Was there something else about them I should be looking for?
The brakes are a big worry any leak in the system and you have no brakes at all , as it is a single circut system . Also it should have D.O.T. 5 brake fluid in it , but some people switch to D.O.T. 3 ,you cannot mix the 2 or it will gel up .

Have you downloaded the TM's yet , you need to do that and start reading.
