Deuce Broke down in columbus mississippi. Need help asap! I have a broken injector line Going to the third injector. If anyone has a smart and can get it to me 2 day please call 409-988-1791.

A brass compression fitting may work if the line pressure isn't too great or if there is enough room to put one on?

This situation happened a while back. The compression fitting coupler was mentioned there. I don't think they tried it.

If you do try it, close the hood and side panel, when you start it. Don't be anywhere near it, no matter what. The coupling is very much under rated for this situation. But if you must try it, be warned it may lead to a deadly failure(seriously).

What is the "pop" pressure for an injector? That would be the pressure the brass needs to withstand. I think its in the 1200-1300psi area.

2,800 PSI according to this manual.

I spoke with him on the phone and he said it is broken off at the injector, so there may not be enough line there to attempt to put a compression fitting on.

I suggested plumbing the injector line into the fuel return line with some hose, clamps, and fittings and just running with a dead cylinder. I don't think this would hurt the cylinder in question, would it?

Yeah, I'd say it needs to hold repeated 3000 psi shock loads, lots of them.

Not saying I would not consider trying this in an emergency.

Or just call memphis equipment and have them overnight one to you. They have it in stock im sure and you are only 3 hours or so from them. Or maybe wreckerman has one? Cause your kinda near him.

I talk to my part supplier back home and he is overnighting me the part I just wanted to see if someone local had 1 on hand so I could get running sooner.

Break the line off in the middle and pinch it over a few times with a pair or pliers to stop the fuel from leaking, maybe. and you can continue to drive on. on 5 cyls.
