OK, I found this guy close by that has a few (10-15) A2's laying around. What the question here is..What is the best options to get in a A2's, such as hard top / soft top, power steering / manual, w/w, wo/w, heater / no heater, turbo / no turbo. If any body wants some pictures I will be taking some on Sunday or Monday when I get back out there. I the mean time I was wondering what is some of you're Ideas on the different options avaliable. This guy has a pretty good bone yard as well.

well if it gets cold where you are, a heater is nice. a lot of heat comes off the engine though, so you can try a deuce without one and see if you need it later. if you plan on taking it offroad, a winch is super nice. its like having a 2 wheel drive truck, then switching to a 4 wheel drive truck. here in the snow country, it would be hard going back to a 2 wheel drive truck. for me, having at least one winch truck is nice to have. most deuces are turbos. then there is the whistler turbo or non whistler turbos. most options as you are talking about are easy add ons/swaps if you want to. a hard top seems like it would hold up better in the hot sun where you are.... but i dont have any evidence to back that up, its just my guess. i dont have a problem with no power steering. test drive a couple and see what you think. seems like that would be ok if you are going to buy one from the guy. ken kublo let me drive his trucks until i bought one... who knows how many miles i put on driving laps around his lot. i got the nickname "test drive tom" from it. haha!

also, i would look at the over all condition of the truck. some trucks i have seen have newer brake parts on them, new engines, some are rusty, etc. i dont think you have too much to worry about with rust out there though. to me, over all condition of the truck is what matters before options.

Like wildchild467 said it depends on your planed uses . I would make sure it has a air shift transfer case ( most do) , but there still some old sprag transfer cases out there . The sprag transfer cases tend to be problematic if not adjusted perfectly .

Thanks guys!! I will be using it off road, we have miles and miles of roads here. It gets cold here, just not this winter. It never came. We will be huritn for water this summer. Price what about a price? Just a rough gestament. like what a winch $1,000.00 or so, steering and so on and so forth. I looked at a few of them today. No rust at all, they accually look pretty clean. He says all of them run , but I didn't have the time to really get in to that today. thanks in advance for any information before the purchase.!!

It seems everything west of the rockies is high , but $6000 looks high for the he has pictured . But then again this was posted in the GL wins 3-1-12 thread ;Who bought the m35a2 in New Mex. for 6,652 PLUS fee's? I know it was a USAF truck but 8 grand does seem high.
