I really can't make out what you're showing in the pics. I do know that the thing sticking out the top of the PTO or the tank isn't factory. Here's a pic of a standard deuce t-case PTO.

Edit- I don't know why the pic is so small. I had it on my computer from my dump conversion.

Argghh can't open up the pic to see. If I did mess up how different is T Case oil from Hydraulic Fluid?
I figured some oil is better then NO oil no?

Again this was a fire truck and other fire truck owners have told me they also have the tank behind the seat.. would love to know exactly how all the lines were run..

Thanks again M16ty, I do appreciate the help.

Ty, while your PTO is plugged, others have a speedo adapter hooked up there, for the engine speed governor.
What sticks up there (DW's first pic) seems to be a broken speedo cable, connected directly, w/o adapter.

That's absolutely correct!..... and a little hyd.oil mixed with gear oil will not harm your T-case, but the dirt and sand that fell in, everytime when "refilling"...... :)

If you didn't pour much in (a quart or less) I doubt it will hurt anything. Like I said above, there is a check plug on the side of the t-case. If you have oil leaking out that high up the level shouldn't be that low.

I will admit I've never looked at a fire truck that close. The only t-case PTOs I've dealt with came from tanker trucks. Maybe the tank is factory on the fire trucks. I can tell you it's not connected to the PTO though.

Tomorrow I will post part#s and dimensions for that seal.
That is an old style seal, single lip + felt; completely encased construction; almost 3/4" wide.
I would replace it with a common double lip seal like the Timken/National #470067 or their encased variant #410067. See their catalog , page 44.

Picture & dims. of the OEM seal, below....

Was having issues on my end with the pics. I thought they might be useful for identifying parts. Everybody likes pics! I wish I has a deuce still. This pto was suppose to go on the one that got totaled.

Thanks Jakecl15, that helps. If you want to sell it, Phil earlier on the thread is looking for one.

Quick question, and I am super busy at work otherwise I would search it. What type of fluid should go in the Transfer Case, ATF fluid? Gear Oil, what weight? Going home tonight and noticed it was low again and want to top off before the ride back.

Thanks!

Gear oil. Some debate on gl5 verses older oils. I saw Jakes classified on that pro. About one knuckle down on the hole. Pull your tunnel cover and check your vent. Make sure it's open.
