I am looking for the darker green color now being used on the vehicles.
I may even go with the sand color.

Does anyone have a good source for paint ?

Thanks,

Chris

I buy Gillespie from Rapco in TX. I think Army Jeep Parts in PA has it too. Both have websites.

When buying paint, you'll find that the hazmat /packaging charges can get pretty high. I found out that USPS will take up to one gallon of paint WITHOUT hazmat charges. It must be shipped parcel post, though. Ask you vendor about that.

Army Jeep Parts is where we got our CARC-lookalike paint, comes in rattle-cans, and I think you can avoid some of the hazmat fees if you buy it this way, for some reason, if I remember correctly, spray cans of paint are treated differently, and more leniently than gallon metal buckets of paint, even if the stuff in side is the same.

you can order Aervoe directly from their site www.aervoe.com I used that on both my trucks. People dislike Aervoe because it fades. After three years on my one truck I can say it does fade, but not that much. Not a big deal, and if you're using the vehicle you'll need to repaint it before it fades just because of dings and scratches and all that anyway [:)]

Arvoe is the newest in service color match , I have on my 925 and when I park in the line up with all the new trucks it looks like it came from the same batch, I buy from Allen the paint guy in NJ 609 953 1003 is his number fast reliable service, I need that, i always need saome at the oddest times and Allen has always been there, as for ww2 paint, there is a guy in PA who is makeing the most correct paint ever offered, I am sure he is in the MV mag, may be something like some cannons on the ad, just the old barrels, I will try to remeber him, I have met him 4 or 5 times and also is a great guy. worth the time to find him if u really want the best, all other paint available is inexpensive hobby paint his is really good stuff,

Arvoe...I see it is said it fades, actually it fades very correctly, and they ALL fade do not kid your self. that is a fact period. ...arvoe has the closest matchs in more colors, but to each his own in buying for your own truck for sure, but facts are facts, ...Randy

Hey Bill, Did you read this? I know this is a very old thread but I never knew this. I know I'm going to ask Rapco about this the next time I order paint in gallons. The haz-mat charges is what kills you when you have paint shipped.

No I did not know about that until AFTER I got the gal of paint but I'm keeping it in mind if I need another gal being I'm already 2gals over the max of what I'd thought it would take to paint this thing
