Well, after 2months and shelling out more than I actually paid for the truck, I got my M1008A1 back! It needed new heads, 2 injectors, glowplugs and the injector pump was only on with one nut! The mechanic who worked on it said it would move on its own when he got in there! Even with new heads, it still smokes a little out the driver side, one of the cyl is 20# below min spec. I was told it had probably been severly over heated and damaged the cylinder but even so it runs like a champ! Starts right uo cold or hot, I had had a hard starting while warm issue and was sure I was in for a new inj pump, but lucky me, it just was severly outa time with the loose pump.
I have a weird turn signal problem I gota run down, found out my horn doesnt work because its unplugged, but I cant find the other end of the plug it goes to.
Once question I do have is that its now shifting late/hard, I thought it might just be a kickdown cable not adj, but I discovered it does not appear to have one, it there a way to adjust the shifting points? If someone could post that info or point me to the right TM Id really appreciate it!
