threaded inserts

Does anyone sell the threaded inserts that are used in the side of the bed for the antenna mounts? The side I want to use has 2 missing.

The 2 ways I know of dealing with this are mirror inserts and gripserts. Mirror inserts are kinda like a collapsible toggle bolt and then cranked down they mushroom out. Work well when new, tend to spin when they get crusty. The Gripserts use a splined insert that is collapsed by a tool. They are more permanent but also more costly to buy. Nice to make friends with someone who has the tool.

Grainger supply has them. 10 in a box for 16 bucks ! you collapse with a bolt and two nuts. if you cant find local ,pm me and Ill send you 2.

They are called Knurled Rivet Nuts. McMaster-Carr also carries them plus the install tool.

We use Rivnuts in 8 and 10 mm at John Deere. If you have a local dealer they should have the nuts and insertion tool.

Harbor Freight sells kits of Rivnuts and the installation tool for cheap.
