I really hate Kalifornia for it's legislation.

Why don't they do a study on gasoline engines and see if the exhaust from them is deadly too?

I can only imagine that "any" exhaust is not good for you. Doubt it took a study to determine that. I try not to stick my head in the stack much. :-D

The diesels we have now are so messed up with emissions, they are almost not relaible anymore. Lots more days out of service, all for emission related issues. Like not going through regen cycles, or plugged DPF's. Nice add more to something that already barely runs.

I was just getting ready to post a new thread about this.

The study group where mine workers. Any fuel used in an enclosed enviironment and breathed would cause problems. Doesn't need a study to come to that conclusion. :cookoo:

Pesticides on fruit causes cancer, and there is a lot of fruit out there. Maybe we should tax them at the federal level.

California along with the Feds will do study after study after study and then do studies on the studies until they get the results that they want. They will do it for taxation or if its someting they want to regulate or outlaw.
They shoud do a similare study on the gas politicians emit.

his winter, however, two studies were published based on research involving more than 12,000 mine workers done by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, known as the Diesel Exhaust in Miners Study, or DEMS.
Miners.... if a miner gets lung cancer, it's got to be the diesel exhaust, right?

How stupid do people have to be to fall for such bad science?

Just wait, they'll start putting an expiration date on your birth certificate. The only thing good about the state of Kalifornia is....dang, can't think of anything. All the foks that had money and could leave, did. They're currently screwing up the states of Oregon, Washington and Colorado. The folks that can't leave are the folks that have been reduced to paupers unable to get off the sinking ship. That leaves a bunch of people that get experimented on by politicians and can't do anything about it. before i get into trouble about politics, I'll get back on the threads task, diesel exhaust is bad. Most states I've lived in haven't in the past put the big trucks into the emission testing nightmare...probably changed in most of them. the other thing is age. At least in Kalifornia, all you used to have to have is the vehicles original smog equipment installed and funtioning properly. If it got yanked in some other state and you want to lisense it, you have to restore the smog to current standards. Screwed up doesn't begin to explain it. All i can guess is all the state officials and politicians are criminlly insane. Nothing else makes sense. There's a lot of good people there trapped by the system with no where to go. God help us. Oh and by the way, no smog testing required in Wyoming, yet.

This is a first shot across the bow by a group interested in taxing and regulating. The science is so bad it's laughable, and the fact it's getting so much press speaks volumes about the drive of certain groups to exploit it.

The umbrella salesman must always find someone to scream "the sky is falling!" before he raises his prices and ramps up production.

Diesel engines are common amongst big bad businesses, and evil men with trucks who should be driving Priuses anyway. Nobody will cry for them when they have to pay a hefty tax on their evil machines that give cancer to babies.

Think of the children!

Do we have any groups working on our side in this fight? Who do I send the donation to this time?
