Stormed last night and all morning, bolt of lightning hit a tree in my woods behind the house this morning and my two pups were going crazy .. and then just like someone flipped a switch, it cleared up around 1:30 .. had finished my body work by last night, so I took a chance and shot some paint .. interior is finished, exterior has a scratch coat .. supposed to be nice tomorrow, will put her up on stands, yank the wheels and finish the undercarriage .. then the tailgate, install my new wire harness and the rebuilt lights .. then its decals, stickers ... new canvass top is in process ..

Great day to shoot some paint .. almost there .. going to install wire harness and lights tomorrow .. Next mini-project, going to FAB a spare tire mount to install in front of the box using the trails for support.. my stencils should be here next week so that I can wrap this project up.

Truck is almost done (talked with my body guy today) then I can get it put back together .. goal is to have that done before the end of the month

The ALCAN trailer is finished with all the unit markings stenciled on. I finished welding/fabricating a spare tire mount for the trailer this evening... will prime, paint and install on the trailer by this weekend weather permitting .. Won a nice and very complete M101A1 from GL at Ft McCoy this evening .. price was very right and the trailer has a new set of Super-lug tires that have never seen the pavement .. has bows, side rails etc .. will plan on picking it up next Tue or Wed.

Truck is all sanded down and bodywork is finally completed .. will be painted next week so that I can start putting it all together.

Time is compressing for the Touch-A-Truck event 16 Jun

LOL .. its a lot of work for this tired and much worn out old grunt / earth pig!

Pic of the trailer with spare tire mounted and another very cherry M101A1 that I dragged home Tuesday. This trailer is very complete with a brand new set of Super-Lug tires ..still had the nubs on the tires when I picked it up. May put it up for sale .. or restore .. no rush to decide.

Beast is back Wed evening from paint ... so Thur and Fri were spent installing components and bolting goodies back in time to get her down w-trailer along with the M818 to the local Touch A Truck event held for children here on the 16th. 2500 + attendance for 6 hours ..50 Plus vehicles and even a chopper giving rides .. Rained and drizzled most of the event, but that didn't seem to slow any of those kids down ..

This AM sunshine, so I ran my baby out of the shop to rinse of some road dirt and all those little (And Some Big) footprints out of the bed and then a quick drive with the pups with the windshield down .. they love the air rushing over them!!

Julie and I drove into town in the beast for some brunch (No work in the shop today per the boss). Will hopefully finish up most everything else on the truck this week (Rear Fenders, Fender Welting, Door Gaskets, Tailgate, P-Rack, etc etc etc) with the exceptions of the paint-masks as the paint needs a couple of weeks to cure before I can complete all of my markings. Some pics of my 2 days progress.

ALCON Mission is almost completed!!!! Paint still needs to cure a bit more before I can do my paint-mask and stencils .. I have a little spot touch up to do still .. but all in all the project which I started 29 Jun 2011, Truck and Trailer is almost completed and ready for the MVPA ALCAN 1 Aug.

Still left to finish: Replace all of my driveshaft seals. Spot Paint/ Touch-up. 24-12 Volt converter install. Tweak Brakes one final time.

Some pics.
