What would cause a HMMWV to suddenly start draining the batteries, we got one about 4 months ago and never had a problem. Last week the batteries were dead after having been driven it a couple days prior. Replaced both with new ones and they were dead within 2 days. Nothing is being left turned on.

Are you absolutely sure the 3 lever light switch did not get turned to Black Out lights? You will not see the BO lights on during the daytime and will drain the batts orver a few days.

*edit* if you have the push button light switch, dis-reguard the statement above. I do not know how the B.O. lights opperate with that switch.

Parasitic Drain

Without a fuse block to help zero in on it, you have to get a multimeter and track it down.
BO switch is a good call by KsM715, bad generator diode, unswitched accessories 24to12v power supply?

Could be a bad control box bleeding volts to internal starter relays or to glow plugs. Rare but possible.

Another potential drain is the chaffing of starter cable or + stud through tunnel wall.

If you have a push button switch, remove it and use 3 lever immediately.
